WORKOUT DETAILS
Hey POPsters!!
HAPPY MOOOOONNNDDAAYYY!!!!
New video just for you!!! It’s one of the hardest leg workouts I have ever done. Think Call Me Maybe Squats x8. Yeah. Pretty much.
Oh and yesterday one of my friends came over and we made froyo soft serve! It was definitely a success! Here’s the recipe.
INGREDIENTS (serves 3 small bowls or 2 medium sized bowls):
– 1 banana
– 1.5 cups 2% fat plain greek yogurt (the 365 brand from whole foods is so good)
– 2 TBS of cinnamon roll protein powder from MAXPRO brand (Max Muscle stores)
– 1/2 cup of plain coconut milk from Trader Joes
DIRECTIONS:
- Mash all and pur into ice cream machine
- Mix for about 15-20 min until it looks like froyo (so cool)
- Done!
- Eat!
NUTRITION FACTS for 1 serving of 3 small bowls or 1/3 of recipe:
180 cals, 3g fat, 16g carbs, 18g protein
I think I can do without the protein powder actually – seems to have added a ton of calories with little volume and not enough of a substantial taste because the banana def took over in flavoring.
Will try this again with other fruits and imgredients to see what happens. Either way though, it was delicious and I encourage you to try it. It was a success taste and texture wise. I will work on the nutrition bit later.
Hope you have a fab start to your week!!! Also, I’d love it if you could tweet @Lolojones the link to the video. I hope she sees it and gives it a try. That would be so cool! She’s our honorary Olympian POPster!!!

This sounds so delicious – I’ve been just searching for a healthy frozen yoghurt recipe – and this seems to do the trick. Sadly I do not own an ice cream maker yet, so lets see how it will work without…

Ah, I’ve totally tried to make that soft serve before and failed! But, the recipe I used didn’t call for yogurt. I’ll have to give it another whirl!

I was just looking at your typical workouts. Wowza! I find it interesting that you do weight lifting and running as opposed to pilates. How do you recommend incorporating pilates into this routine?

Hi Cassey 🙂
Love that you put out your personal workouts on the blog. I was wondering how long your breaks in between each 30 seconds sprint are?Reply

Pfew! That leg workout was killer. I had to switch to stepping lunges instead of jump lunges after the first set, I could not keep doing them! Probably didn’t help that I’d just finished lunch.
Love the greek froyo… I make it a LOT at home (although never with protien powder), and to make the yogurt even creamier you can make “yogurt cheese” by draining the excess whey out using a coffee filter set in a strainer… of course, I usually add some liquid back in the form of whipping cream (I whip it first, and fold it into the yogurt.), I think it helps prevent the leftovers from freezing totally solid. I suggest trying lemon, peach, honey (just dump a container of honey greek yogurt into the ice cream freezer if you’re in a rush) and try plain yogurt sweetened with brown sugar and flavored with vanilla… it tastes like cheesecake!Reply
