How to make a new program in Khan Academy? ›

You can create a new program by visiting this link: https://www.khanacademy.org/computer-programming/new/pjs. Alternatively, you can do the same thing by visiting an already existing program, and pressing the "New Program" button right below the canvas on the right.

What is happening? Khan Academy is retiring some content that isn't aligned to our focus on Kindergarten through early college (K-14) core academic courses and select tests. This change will take place on July 15, 2020. In many cases, content from retiring courses is also included within a core academic course.

We're always working to improve and expand Khan Academy, including by adding more concepts to learn! Whenever there are updates to course content that could affect your Mastery percentage, you'll see a “New content added!” notice in the course, with a link to the Content Updates page.

When on your Teacher Dashboard, you'll see a blue button that says "Add a Course" for any classes that don't have one yet. Click on this button to open the course menu, where you can add one or multiple courses. Again, if you can't find the course you're looking for, you can search for it at the top of the list!

As of today, while working on some practice activities, you'll see a “Start over” link. When clicked, this will take you back to the start of the activity you were working on without impacting your Mastery progress!

One of the main issues with Khan Academy is that it does not provide an adequate learning experience for students. The videos are cookie-cutter, impersonal, and lack any sort of teacher interaction. While the videos do provide an explanation of content, this is far from the whole teaching experience.

In late 2019, Khan Academy was looking to upgrade their backend. The site was built on a Python 2 monolith and it worked well for over 10 years. However, Python 2 was about to reach the official end of life on January 1rst, 2020 so Khan Academy engineers decided they had to update.

1 Define the program scope. The first step to take when starting a new program is to define the program scope. This means clarifying the vision, objectives, benefits, and boundaries of the program, as well as the assumptions, risks, and dependencies that affect it.

Double-click a program shortcut icon on the desktop. Click an item on the taskbar. The taskbar should display by default; if it doesn't, press the Windows logo key (on your keyboard) to display it and then click an icon on the taskbar, just to the right of the Start button.

First, go to your Teacher Dashboard, accessible through the username dropdown menu at the top-right of the screen. Click the Add new class button. You can also go to the class switcher in the upper left corner and then click on Create new class... from the dropdown.

Step 1: Log into your Khan Academy account. Click your name in the top right-hand corner, then select the “Teacher Dashboard” link from the dropdown list. Step 2: Select which class you would like to make an assignment for. Step 3: On the left hand menu bar, click the “Assign” option below the “Assignments” section.

A spin-off is made when user modifies an original program on Khan Academy and clicks the Save as a spin-off button. If user presses the spin-off button on a program without changing any of the program's code, the un-changed spin-off will not show up on the spin-offs list of the original program.
