Remnant 2: How To Complete The Chimney (2024)

The open world of Remnant 2 is divided into five regions apart from Ward 13, and each region is further divided into smaller areas. Whenever you enter a region, you can get one of the two storylines based on the procedural generation. You can only find The Chimney area if you started at The Forbidden Grove when you entered Yaesha.

This is a side path that can be located on the top left side of the map, and it features a special electric puzzle at the end. Although, you'll first need to defeat a ton of normal and elite enemies to get to this puzzle.

The Chimney Electric Puzzle Guide

Once you defeat a certain number of enemies and reach near the end of The Chimney, you'll find a smaller Checkpoint just before the electric puzzle. You can rest at these smaller Checkpoints and teleport to a different area, but you can't directly teleport back to them unless you're in Ward 13 and this was your last location.

Once you've gained all your health, ammo, and Relic charges back, you can head over to the crystal in the middle of the electric puzzle to find a lever nearby. A red barrier will appear at the entrance as soon as you activate this lever, and you'll race against time for the next few minutes.

Purple pools of electricity spawn above and below you as soon as the lever is activated, and both these pools slowly descend. You have to make sure that your character doesn't touch either of them or you'll instantly be defeated. After activating the lever, head back down the stairs and take the first left.

You have to keep going in circles as you slowly descend in the area, and there will be multiple holes in the walls. The path is very thin and enemies constantly come out of these holes to block your way. These enemies include the normal branch and explosive enemies in Yaesha along with an elite enemy towards the end.

Apart from the enemies and the two pools of electricity, you'll also see multiple black crystals on the fence to the left of your entire path. These crystals will get struck with electricity randomly and start turning bright pink slowly. After a couple of seconds, they will do an AoE shock that deals damage to everyone nearby.

It also leaves a lingering shock on the affected enemies that explodes again after a few seconds. You can either destroy these crystals as you go or wait for them to explode and then go past them. Keep a check on your ammo and don't waste any on these crystals if you're running low.

After going in circles a couple of times, you'll eventually cross a tree branch bridge and reach a smaller circle that starts curving in the other direction. There'll be a dropdown at the end of this circle but it'll be blocked by some small tree branches. You don't have to worry about the electric pool here since it stops until you open the dropdown.

There'll be a giant hole in the middle where you'll be able to see some tree branches with shining yellow sap in between them. Shoot all three of these saps and the dropdown will open, which also starts the electric pools again. Past the dropdown, you'll go to another tree branch bridge where you have two choices:

• You can either follow this bridge and go to the hole in front. This will increase your path a little, and you can't get the purple item here yet.
• It's better to jump down to the nearby path once the electric pool goes below it. This saves you some time and ammo. If you jump down, make sure to continue on the left side since the right side will lead you back up.

Things will get quite hard from here, but you'll eventually reach the bottom after defeating a few enemies. When you're near the end, you'll see some more explosive sap in the middle. It's recommended to shoot this sap when you're still coming down since it's much harder to do it when you're already at the bottom.

Once the sap is gone, use one of the holes in the fence to drop to the bottom and kite the enemies until the purple electric pool reaches there. This pool won't touch your character this time, but it will instantly kill all the enemies and finish the puzzle. At this point, you can head to the middle and retrieve the Heart Seed.

To get this item, you'll first have to go back to the top of this puzzle. Start descending from the top until you reach a couple of layers above the purple item. When you're on the path in front of the path that the item is on, you'll be able to see a hidden purple sap in the wall.

Destroy this sap and you can find this item at the bottom. It's an Amulet called Downward Spiral, which increases your Fire Rate and Melee Speed by 10 and 15 percent respectively. Moreover, you get some Ranged and Melee Damage based on the HP you're missing.
